IRS Tax Lien Listings

We often notify potential clients when the IRS has filed a Notice of Federal Tax lien against their property.  This information is a public record that is available the day the tax lien is recorded by the IRS at the Maricopa County Recorder’s office (or your local county recorders office).  The IRS can also provide information when a tax lien was filed by ordering an account transcript for each tax year in question.  If a tax lien has been filed it will also show up on your credit reports.  If you pay off a tax debt or if you think it should have expired under the “ten year rule,” the IRS transcript will verify if it has been removed.  If you have moved or avoid being contacted by the IRS you may not be aware that an IRS tax lien has been filed against you.
