Successful IRS Settlement by Tax Debt Advisors

Successful IRS settlement by Tax Debt Advisors yet again!

See the successful IRS settlement by Tax Debt Advisors by clicking on the notice below. William was years behind on filing his tax returns. On top of that the IRS assigned his case to be worked by a local Revenue Officer. This employee was assigned to the case until full resolution. Tax Debt Advisors represented William during this entire process. William never had to speak with or meet with the IRS Revenue Officer. This was a huge stress relief for him. After preparing all the back tax returns a settlement could be negotiated.  It was decided that the ultimate settlement option is to file a tax motivated Chapter 7 bankruptcy however his taxes did not qualify to be discharged for 9 more months.  To get William from now till 9 months out a payment plan was negotiated to prevent levy and garnishment action.

Recently, Scott Allen EA was able to negotiate ten years of back taxes for his client Mike. Mike is a self employed individual who through a struggling economy here in Arizona was barely making enough money to cover his living expenses let alone pay his taxes. Upon meeting with Scott Allen EA for a free initial consultation they were able to start a working relationship together.

Mike gave him Power of Attorney authorization and went to work. IRS levy action was prevented and over the course of the next month all back tax returns were filed and submitted to the IRS timely.  Once all the tax returns were accepted by the IRS Scott began the negotiation process.  Basic financial information was gathered up and evaluated.  It was determined that Mike’s best settlement option was to negotiate and non collectible status to cover all his back tax debts. October 2018 case update:

Just because you may have forgotten to file a tax return 15 years ago does not mean it can’t necessarily come back to haunt you later. That happened to John. He did not file a 2003 tax return. Here in 2018 he is still getting collection notices. Because he never filed a tax return that year the IRS filed the return for him. The IRS calls this a Substitute For Return and you do not want this to happen to you.  Upon meeting with John, Scott Allen EA was able to prepare and protest the IRS filing. As you can see in the IRS notice below his tax bill went from $8,000 down to $3,000.

Sometimes facing an IRS debt is difficult to face. Taxpayers continue to put it off month after month. When this happens a lien, levy or garnishment can happen. For Jesse that is exactly what happened. The IRS issued a notice of levy to his employer demanding payment for back taxes owed. Mesa IRS Currently Non Collectible

Case Closed – Accepted Mesa IRS Currently Non Collectible

A tax client named Scott received an approval for a Mesa IRS Currently Non Collectible status on his back tax debt. Scott and his wife were about six years behind on their tax filings. They made an appointment to meet with Tax Debt Advisors to discuss how they could assist. Tax Debt Advisors was able to represent the concerned taxpayers before the IRS and put a hold to further enforcement action. All the back tax returns were prepared one at a time until brought current. Scott is self employed so with no taxes being withheld they owed for each and every year. However, based upon their current financial status the taxpayers qualified for a currently non collectible status on all the back tax years. You can read into more about this status by clicking here. In addition you can read the acceptance/approval letter from the IRS agent below. These are always good IRS letter to open up to say the least.

Mesa IRS Currently Non Collectible

Mesa IRS Currently Non Collectible

All the client needs to do is to file and pay on time their future tax obligations and they will remain in this status. If they do not then it will cause a default and they will have to rework a new agreement. If that happens they may or may not qualify for the same agreement if their financial situation has changed. What if the taxpayers are making $800 more per month then they were when the agreement was established? Now the IRS could force them to agree to an $800 a month payment plan. This is something you do not want to happen. Again, the key to keeping the IRS “off your back” is to remain in filing compliance. Far too often clients will become repeat clients because they cannot correct the problem.

Rather then becoming a repeat client, do it right the first time with Scott Allen EA of Tax Debt Advisors in Mesa AZ. Speak with him today regarding your IRS matter.

2018 Scottsdale IRS Settlement by Scott Allen EA

2018 Scottsdale IRS Settlement

If you came across this page you probably are in a similar situation to John. John had a handful of tax returns that were unfiled. He lost a lot of his tax records over the years due to moving and various job changes.  Scott Allen EA was hired by John to represent hin before the Internal Revenue Service. This is where Scott did his “discovery” work. He found out exactly what John needed to file, where to file, and gather copies of his 1099’s and W-2’s for each year.

Next, the tax returns were prepared (also done by Scott). One by one they were filed timely with the IRS. While waiting for the IRS to process the tax returns a strategy was worked on to settle the IRS debt for John. Financial information was evaluated on his income and expenses. It was determined that John would indeed qualify for a non collectible status on his IRS debt.

What qualifies someone for a non collectible status? To summarize it into one statement its when a taxpayer has little or no money left over each month after paying for his or her basic living expenses. To qualify a taxpayer must live within the IRS’s national standard guidelines on expenses. If you spend too much money on a car payment or some other expenses the IRS could ask you to sell or adjust that expenses before qualifying for a non collectible status. This is when its important to have an Enrolled Agent on your side to guide you through this process so you can achieve the best that the law allows.

Meet with Scott Allen EA this week to evaluate your tax matter and get it resolved right the first time.
